Patch 3.1 Complete Paladin Talents Review Part 2

Continuing from Part 1

So we covered just one talent yesterday. Today's Goal is to cover the rest of the prot tree talents. Let's Begin -

Divine Strength Ranks 1 to 5
Increases your total Strength by 3% (6%, 9%, 12%, 15%)

Comments - This is core to both DPS and Prot Paladins. Strength is the primary stat for DPS Paladins and it is also a primary stat for protection paladins to shield block, damage (threat), etc. It is not useful to Healers. So here is my score breakdown -

Tier 2 Prot Talents

Stoicism Ranks 1 to 3
Reduces the duration of all Stun effects by an additional 10% and reduces the chance your helpful spells and damage over time effects will be dispelled by an additional 10% (20%, 30%).
Comments - Our first PVP talent. While it may be useful for all paladins in gimmick encounters, for the most part not useful in pve. In PVP, it become useful. The ratings -

Guardian's Favor Ranks 1 to 2
Reduces the cooldown of your Hand of Protection by 60 (120) sec and increases the duration of your Hand of Freedom by 2 (4) sec.
Comments - The is one of those talents that is really not core for any speck but could be useful in various ways depending. The Hand of Freedom is very handy in PVP and the Hand of Protection used to be the a tank's way of getting a mob back on them prior to our taunt. Many see Healers as Hand Masters as well. So this is how I rate it -

Anticipation Ranks 1 to 5
Increases your chance to dodge by 1% (2%, 3%, 4%, 5%)

Comments - Core to tanking. It helps with damage mitigation. In addition, may be a tad useful in pvp, to help dodge some of those attacks, but not really core. Let's Rate it -

Tier 3 Prot Talents

Divine Sacrifice Ranks 1
30% of all damage taken by party or raid members within 30 yards is redirected to the Paladin (up to a maximum of 150% of the Paladin's health). Lasts 10 sec.
Comments - There is much debate to the usefulness of this talent to various specks. It does serve well in pvp as another way to break CC, like Hand of Sacrifice. It is great for off tanks that can bubble to prevent damage. It could be handy in gimmick fights for a main tank, cause you no longer need to use your bubble to activate it, the downside, it easily exposes your main tank to death. So lets rate it -

Improved Righteous Fury Ranks 1 to 3
While Righteous Fury is active, all damage taken is reduced by 2% (4%, 6%)
Comments - Ok, this is a tanking talent, nothing here for healers or dps. It is optional for Off Tanks, because off tanks may not be running with Righteous Fury Active, but most do. So lets rank it -

Toughness Ranks 1 to 5
Increases your armor value from items by 2% (4%, 6%, 8%, 10%) and reduces the duration of all movement slowing effects by 6% (12%, 18%, 24%, 30%).
Comments - This is tanking love and a bit of pvp love. The added armor helps you survive and the pvp love is the reducing the duration of movement effect. Rating it -
